my cousin gave me her old macbook. When I booted it up, i noticed that all of her information was still on it. So i found a website that gave me directions on how restore the laptop to its factory settings. I followed the instructions and went to try and reinstall the os x. It asked me for my apple id. When i procedded to type in my apple id, i got an error message. after looking up this error message, i found out that it wanted me to type the apple id of the person who originally upgraded the computer to yosemite. I tried to contact my cousin to ask for her password (to get her personal info off), and she refused to give me her info.
So now the mac goes straight to the os utilities and cannot start up. If someone can please guide me through how to get my mac up and running, it will be greatly appreciated.
